Piyush Goyal Foresees India's Economic Growth to $35 Trillion by 2047

Minister of Commerce & Industry, Piyush Goyal, articulated the government's ambitious goal of catapulting the current $3.7 trillion Indian economy to a fully developed status, reaching $30-35 trillion by 2047, while simultaneously ensuring the nation's food and energy security.

Speaking to a delegation comprising 35 journalists from 19 Latin American and Caribbean countries, Goyal emphasized Prime Minister Narendra Modi's comprehensive vision for uplifting the underprivileged alongside ensuring effective governance, which has propelled India from the 11th to the 5th largest economy globally over the past decade.

Goyal expressed confidence in India's trajectory, anticipating it to secure the position of the 3rd largest economy by 2027. He lauded PM Modi's unwavering commitment to bolstering India's macroeconomic fundamentals in preparation for the future, while simultaneously prioritizing the welfare of the impoverished, particularly in areas of food, healthcare, and education.

Highlighting India's remarkable progress, Goyal underscored that the nation has experienced its most successful decade since Independence, with inflation halved over the past 12 years, consequently stabilizing interest rates and fostering economic growth.
