Record high rates in US may put dent on Thanksgiving holiday
October's Consumer Price Index, which is a measure of a basket of goods, climbed a whopping 6.2 per cent from the same month last year, and now stands at a 30-year high, reports Xinhua news agency. The cost of staple food items -- meat, eggs, fish and poultry -- has soared 10.5 per cent for the year ended September 2021, reported the Bureau of Labour Statistics.

However, the net loss has widened on a year-on-year (YOY) basis. Spicejet Ltd. had reported a net loss of Rs 112.59 crore for quarter 2 of the financial year 2020-21.
Base effect, heavy rains ease India's September industrial output growth on sequential basis
Accordingly, the rise in Index of Industrial Production (IIP) for September eased to 3.1 per cent from 12.03 per cent in August 2021. However, on a year-on-year basis, the September out up showed an accelerating trend from a growth of just 1 per cent reported for the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.
