In the aftermath of its recent reduction in fuel charges, IndiGo has opted to increase fees for passengers seeking extra legroom in the front row of its aircraft.
According to information on the airline's website, passengers choosing window or aisle seats in the front row of an A321 aircraft (typically accommodating 222 seats) will now be subject to a fee of Rs 2,000. A slightly reduced charge of Rs 1,500 applies to the aisle seat in the same row. For the second and third rows, all seat types have a flat rate of Rs 400.
IndiGo emphasizes that passengers who are not interested in purchasing a preferred seat can freely choose any available seat or be assigned one at no additional cost during airport check-in.
These revised charges are uniformly applicable to A321 planes with 232 seats and A320 aircraft with 180 seats, as detailed on the airline's official website.
While awaiting a response from IndiGo, passengers are advised to monitor the airline's official communication channels for any further updates.
