Navigating the Spectrum: Rajeev Chandrasekhar Discusses Utilization of ChatGPT and Bard

Addressing the conclave, Chandrasekhar emphasized that, in the realm of artificial intelligence (AI), it is technological talent rather than chip-driven computer power that will propel India's progress.

Union Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, revealed his diverse use of AI tools, including OpenAI's ChatGPT and Google's Bard, stating that he is "all over the place" during the CNBC-TV18 and Moneycontrol Global AI Conclave on Saturday. Notably, he humorously added that he is also involved in exploring the dark internet.

Addressing the conclave, Chandrasekhar emphasized that, in the realm of artificial intelligence (AI), it is technological talent rather than chip-driven computer power that will propel India's progress. Reflecting on the evolution of academic metrics, he noted a shift from measuring institutions by the number of students hired by companies like Google to evaluating the platforms created by students for global impact.

Chandrasekhar stressed the critical role of talent in AI advancement, asserting that the challenge lies in producing skilled professionals. He expressed concerns about the shortage of talent, stating, "Talent is a much more fundamental challenge in AI. We need universities to churn out masters and PhDs in AI. Talent is something that keeps me awake at night. The infrastructure pieces will get solved very quickly."

Earlier in the week, Chandrasekhar underscored the importance of collaboration between the tech industry, academic institutions, and governments globally to shape the future pipeline of talent for AI-related jobs. This collaborative effort, he believes, is essential for meeting the increasing demand for skilled professionals in the field of artificial intelligence.
