Renowned Kolkata-based industrialist and Ambuja Neotia Group's Chairman, Harshavardhan Neotia, familiarly referred to as Harsh Neotia, made his way to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office located in Salt Lake on the outskirts of Kolkata early Tuesday morning.
Upon his arrival at the central agency's office, Harsh Neotia acknowledged being summoned for interrogation by the ED but refrained from disclosing the specific reasons behind the summon.
"I will provide all the details later," he curtly responded.
ED officials have also opted to maintain silence regarding the matter.
Recalling the events, in October 2014, Harsh Neotia and artist Subhaprasanna underwent interrogation by the ED regarding their involvement in the multi-crore Saradha chit fund scam.
While Subhaprasanna faced questioning over the sale of a company under his ownership to Sudipta Sen, the Saradha Group's chief, Harsh Neotia was probed regarding his purported connections with the company, primarily an art venture.
Harsh Neotia enjoys recognition within Kolkata's circles as an art enthusiast. Nevertheless, it remains unclear whether his summoning to the ED's office is related to the aforementioned past case or if it involves a new development.
