NTPC has been served with demand orders from GST authorities across seven states, requiring payment of tax, interest, and penalties totaling Rs 100.80 crore.
These states encompass Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, and Gujarat, each issuing tax demands to NTPC. However, NTPC has confirmed its intention to appeal against these orders within the stipulated timelines.
The government-owned power corporation assured stakeholders that these GST demand orders will not significantly impact its financial standing, operational capacities, or overall activities.
As of Friday at 12 a.m., NTPC's shares were trading at Rs 315.70 apiece.
