'Eminently Employable': Anand Mahindra extends support to Agniveers, says Mahindra Group welcomes opportunity to recruit them

When asked about the post Mahindra Group would offer to Agniveers, Anand Mahindra said that there is great potential for the employment of Agniveers in the corporate sector.

Anand Mahindra,the Chief Executive Officer of the Mahindra Group,  has extended his support to Agniveers. Mahindra, on Monday, said that he is saddened by th violence related to Agnipath Scheme. He also emphasized that the discipline and skills of Agniveers would make them “eminently employable”.

When asked about the post Mahindra Group would offer to Agniveers, Anand Mahindra said that there is great potential for the employment of Agniveers in the corporate sector.

“Large potential for employment of Agniveers in the Corporate Sector. With leadership, teamwork & physical training, Agniveers provide market-ready professional solutions to industry, covering the full spectrum from operations to administration & supply chain management (SIC),” CEO, Mahindra Group replied to the tweet.

In a span of two days, after the central government introduced the "Agnipath Scheme" , violent protests broke out in several cities against the new defence recruitment scheme, raising various concerns for the aspirants.

The concerns of the protestors include - job insecurity, pension has been removed and there is no lifelong healthcare benefit for the soldier and his family.

Agnipath Scheme was announced by the Government of India on 14th June 2022, to recruit youngsters in the defence sector. The scheme will allow both men and women to become soldiers for a brief period of 4 years, and the selected candidates will be known as Agniveers. Under this scheme, nearly 45,000 to 50,000 soldiers will be recruited annually. Of the total annual recruits, only 25 per cent will be allowed to continue for another 15 years under permanent commission.
