BJP Nat'l Executive Committee lauds Agnipath, Centre's announcement of 10L jobs
With the economic and 'Garib Kalyan' (poor welfare) resolution presented in the BJP's NEC, every decision has been taken by the Narendra Modi government keeping in mind the poor people of the country. Of the two resolutions, one 'economic and Garib Kalyan' resolution was presented in the NEC meet by Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and supported by Union Minister Piyush Goyal and Haryana Chief Minister M.L. Khattar.

Asserting that the party will oppose the scheme with all its might, Party General Secretary Jairam Ramesh said: "Manish Tewari, INC MP, has written an article on Agnipath. While @INCIndia is the only democratic party, it must be said his views are entirely his own & not of the party, which firmly believes Agnipath is anti-national security & anti-youth, bulldozed through without discussion."

According to onlookers, the Congress had staged a 'dharna' as a part of a call given by leaders for all India protest against the Agnipath scheme launched by the central government for Indian youths. Amid the dharna, a young man came and sought permission to speak about the scheme. On being given a mike, he started counting the benefits of the scheme which irked the agitators. Khalil Budana, General Secretary of the District Congress Committee, snatched the mike from the youth and thrashed him up.

Rajasthan Council of Ministers passes resolution seeking repeal of Agnipath scheme
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot at the Chief Minister's residence here on Saturday. At the meeting, the Council of Ministers expressed concern over the nationwide protests against the Agnipath scheme. It was stated during the meeting that to maintain the dignity and prestige of the Indian Army, it is necessary to have skill, experience and stability in the force.
