Tesla CEO Elon Musk challenged Warren Buffett on Monday to buy Tesla when the world is gripped by a global slowdown in EV sales.
He replied to a user, who advised Buffett to quit Apple and instead spend on Tesla. Musk agreed with the assessment, calling it a "no-brainer".
"Buffett should definitely take a position in Tesla. It's a no-brainer," Musk posted back in reply to the user post.
The investment in BYD, a Chinese EV manufacturer, is Berkshire Hathaway's only stake in EV companies. Even at Tesla's present valuation of over $7 billion, Buffett still has not taken a position on the company.
This weekend, Musk reacted to a post that quoted Buffett's advice on the best way to spend the final day of one's life, because Musk thinks he would spend his final day with his children.
On the weekend, Musk also posted a message quoting Buffett's advice on spending time with loved ones, as Musk wished he could spend his last day with his children.
"It's unfortunate he didn't seize the opportunity to invest in Tesla when it was just a small fraction of its current value," Musk has recently said.
The tech billionaire is currently busy repairing Tesla after massive losses the company recorded in the January-March quarter this year.
In this quarter, the company's net profit slumped by 55 percent to $1.13 billion from $2.51 billion in the same quarter of the previous year.
