Ola Electric has launched the sportiest version of its best-selling S1 series, introducing the S1 Pro Sport at a beginning price of ₹1.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
The new model arrives with an updated look and is equipped with the firm's newly created 4680-type battery, which ensures quicker charging, increased energy density, and reduced manufacturing costs.
The S1 Pro Sport is differentiated from the base model with a range of styling upgrades. Upfront, it has a restyled apron that features the Ola logo prominently just above a camera, allowing for sophisticated driver-assistance functions including collision detection via the new MoveOS 6 software.
Other design improvements are a redesigned seat, front fender made of carbon-fibre, grab handle in carbon-fibre, and a newly designed aerodynamic windshield. The scooter also has larger 14-inch wheels, improving both stability as well as sportiness.
At the core of the S1 Pro Sport lies an electric motor that is indigenously designed as a ferrite motor, designed to minimize reliance on foreign rare earth magnets. The motor has a peak power of 16 kW and peak torque of 71 Nm.
Combined with a 5.2 kWh battery pack constructed using the newest 4680 cells, the scooter also registers a peak speed of 152 kmph and accelerates 0–40 kmph in 2 seconds. Ola also declares an IDC range of 320 km, which places it among the most performance-centric electric scooters in its class.
