Mahindra has launched an updated model of the Scorpio-N, now powered by Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
As part of this technology boost, the company has also added a new Z8T variant, which joins the range from a starting price of ₹20.29 lakh (ex-showroom) for the manual transmission version.
Adding ADAS, the range-topping Z8L variant—the six-seater diesel with 4WD and auto transmission—is now priced at ₹25.42 lakh (ex-showroom). This change represents a big step towards making advanced safety tech more affordable in Mahindra's best-selling SUV line-up.
Feature Upgrades and ADAS Features
The newly-added Level 2 ADAS suite introduces a myriad of advanced safety features to the Scorpio-N. These include:
Adaptive Cruise Control
Lane Keep Assist
Automatic Emergency Braking
Forward Collision Warning
Mahindra has already launched these systems in other models such as the XUV700, XUV3XO, and newly launched Thar Roxx. The company's electric lineup—comprising the BE6 and XEV 9e—is also equipped with these safety features as part of its focus on greater occupant protection.
On top of the base ADAS equipment, Scorpio-N now features segment-first technologies such as:
Speed Limit Assist: Alerts drivers of the current speed limits
Front Vehicle Start Alert: Warns the driver when the car ahead starts moving
All these systems utilize a combination of visual indication, audio warning, and haptic feedback to enhance driving cognizance and safety.
New Z8T Variant: Mid-Level Price with Premium Features
Sitting between the Z8 and Z8L grades, the Z8T variant provides a good blend of performance and luxury. It includes some of the high-end features like:
18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels
Sony 12-speaker audio system
Front parking sensors and front camera
Six-way powered driver seat
Electronic Parking Brake (EPB)
Ventilated front seats
Auto-dimming inside rear-view mirror (IRVM)
Powertrain and Mechanical Specs
Mechanically, the Scorpio-N doesn't change. It still has the 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines, both available with manual and automatic transmissions. The starting price of the Scorpio-N stays at ₹13.99 lakh (ex-showroom), which keeps it competitive in the SUV segment.
