With the arrival of the Tata Harrier.EV heating up competition in the electric SUV segment, Mahindra has upped the ante by upgrading its BE6 and XEV 9e line-ups.
The Indian manufacturer has now announced the prices of the Pack TWO variants of these vehicles—providing customers with more value and power.
Earlier, the 79 kWh battery was reserved only for the highest-spec Pack THREE model. Now, the larger battery option has been offered by Mahindra in the Pack TWO configuration also, giving existing customers who have booked their vehicles an option to upgrade. The fact is that Mahindra has been able to price the 79 kWh Pack TWO variants more competitively than comparable Tata Harrier.EV variants. The Pack TWO variants are set to be delivered from the end of July.
Mahindra BE6 Pack TWO: What You Get
The BE6 Pack TWO begins at ₹21.90 lakh (ex-showroom) for the 59 kWh battery model. The 79 kWh battery option costs ₹23.50 lakh. The company promises a real-world range of about 400 km for the 59 kWh variant and 500 km for the 79 kWh model.
Pack TWO is well-padded. It includes highlights such as a panoramic glass roof, Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), and a completely digital, race-inspired cockpit. Similar to Pack THREE, this trim also boasts sage-colored premium leatherette upholstery. For music enthusiasts, the 16-speaker Harman Kardon with Dolby Atmos provides theater-quality audio.

For even more comfort in the cabin, it receives acoustic laminated glass for lower noise levels.
The rear wheels are powered by a motor that can generate 282 bhp and 380 Nm of torque when mated to the 79 kWh battery. The 59 kWh version has slightly lower output but the same torque value. The BE6 and XEV 9e Pack TWO versions are both capable of 11.2 kW AC fast charging.
Competitive Edge Over Harrier.EV
Mahindra's pricing strategy has a big advantage for its new EVs over Tata's Harrier.EV. The XEV 9e Pack TWO beats the Empowered 75 version of the Harrier.EV—priced at ₹27.49 lakh—by almost ₹1 lakh. On the other hand, the BE6 Pack TWO is ₹49,000 lower than the Fearless Plus 65 variant at ₹23.99 lakh and gives a massive ₹1.49 lakh discount compared to the Fearless Plus 75 variant priced at ₹24.99 lakh.
This value proposition re-jig with higher prices increases Mahindra's value proposition in the electric SUV market so that it can address a wider customer base and compete more fiercely.
Performance Comparison: Mahindra vs Tata
In performance, both the Mahindra BE6 and XEV 9e lead the pack. While the Tata Harrier.EV Empowered and Fearless Plus models are driven by a 238 hp rear-bay motor producing 315 Nm of torque, Mahindra's electric SUVs make a more powerful 282 hp and 380 Nm with the 79 kWh battery configuration. Even the lower 59 kWh models make 228 bhp and have the same 380 Nm torque output.
Clearly, Mahindra's products not only provide improved specs but now have a more attractive price point—making them solid contenders in India's expanding electric car market.
