Kia recently introduced the latest member of the electric vehicle family, the EV3, a state-of-the-art all-electric SUV that offers up to 600 km driving range and fast-charging capability, recharging the battery to 80 percent in 31 minutes.
The EV3 is going to debut this July in South Korea and later on in Europe in the second half of this year, followed by other global markets.
"The EV3 is designed to offer Kia's outstanding EV SUV experience for even more customers. With a WLTP driving range of up to 600 km and fast-charging capability, the EV3 addresses key EV pain points," said Ho Sung Song, President and CEO of Kia.
The EV3 is available in nine colors, two of which are special edition colors - Aventurine Green and Terracotta. The size of the vehicle is 4,300mm length, 1,850mm width, 1,560mm height, and a wheelbase of 2,680mm. The vehicle features a front-wheel-drive electric powertrain on the Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) and with the newest battery technology from Kia for an efficient performance.
The EV3 Standard model is equipped with a 58.3kWh battery, while the Long Range model features an 81.4kWh battery that offers both power alternatives to any customer.
"With the EV3, Kia has reimagined the EV SUV segment with a compact model that is fully equipped with the latest innovative technology and features," said Spencer Cho, VP and Head of Global Business Planning.
The electric motor in the EV3 Standard and Long Range models has a capacity of 150kW/283Nm, which gives it an acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph in 7.5 seconds and a top speed of 170 kmph, the company said.
