Kia India launches Carens at introductory starting price from Rs 8.99 lk
According to the company, Carens is offered in 19 variants with prices ranging from Rs 8.99 lakh to Rs 16.99 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India). The model is available in five trims, three engine options and three transmission options. So far, the company has received 19,089 bookings for the car in over a month since the bookings opened on January 14.
Kia Sonet crosses one lakh sales-mark in less than 12 months
Accordingly, during the same period, the vehicle has become the fourth highest-selling SUV in the country. Introduced in September 2020, Sonet has contributed almost 17 per cent to the segment and 32 per cent to the company's overall sales. "The Sonet was launched when the auto industry was facing its worst slump in history with the advent of Covid-19 pandemic," said Tae-Jin Park.

The EV6 is Kia's first model embedded with Hyundai Motor Group's own EV-only electric-global modular platform (E-GMP). Kia has received over 30,000 preorders for the EV6 in the domestic market, and a combined 8,800 preorders in Europe and the United States, the company said. The maker of the K5 sedan and the Sorento SUV aim to sell 13,000 units of the zero-emission model on its home turf.
Hyundai, Kia say not in talks with Apple, shares plunge
In separate regulatory filings, Hyundai and Kia, which together form the world's fifth-biggest carmaker by sales, said they are "not in talks with Apple over developing an autonomous vehicle". In a statement, Hyundai said that it "has received requests to co-develop autonomous electric vehicle from multiple companies but they were in the early stages and nothing has been finalised".
