Kia India has formally launched the all-electric Carens Clavis EV, from ₹17.99 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards.
This is the sequel to the previous launch of its ICE counterpart, retaining the MPV's familiar silhouette but with a number of electric-specific design changes and features.
The Carens Clavis EV is available with two battery packs: a 42 kWh and a 51.4 kWh pack. The smaller pack is mated to a 99 kW motor, while the bigger unit is compatible with a 126 kW motor, both of which churn out a peak torque of 255 Nm. Based on ARAI-certified data, the 42 kWh version provides 404 km of range, while the 51.4 kWh variant goes up to 490 km on one charge.
Within the cabin, the electric variant takes much from its ICE counterpart but infuses a touch of futurism. The star feature is the 26.62-inch Dual Panoramic Display Panel, which fluidly incorporates the infotainment display and driver cluster. Additional points of interest are:
8-speaker Bose premium audio system
64-color ambient lighting with footwell lighting
Floating center console with ambient surround lighting
Ventilated front seats and powered driver seat
Dual-pane panoramic sunroof
Smart Pure Air Purifier with AQI display
Retractable cup holders and premium Jabara seat covers
Although the overall form is similar to the ICE variant, the EV is equipped with unique styling cues that resonate with Kia's "Opposites United" design language. EV-specific features are:
Kia Digital Tiger Face
Star-map LED DRLs with turn indicators
Ice cube-style MFR LED headlamps
Connected star-map LED tail lamps
17-inch dual-tone crystal-cut aero alloy wheels
