World War II vintage bomb safely detonated in Manipur

Defence spokesman Lt Col A.S. Walia said that the bomb was recovered by locals during digging work in Kamjong district, bordering Myanmar. On receipt of the information, security forces, with the assistance of local police, safely shifted the bomb away from populated area for disposal, and a team of the army bomb disposal unit carried out the safe disposal of 250 lbs bomb using the 'Violent Technique'.
Krishna Janmabhoomi petitioners buoyed by Varanasi verdict

Maharashtra : FDA cancels Johnson & Johnson's licence to make baby powder

The FDA said that the licence was cancelled after samples of the fast-moving Johnson's Baby Powder collected from Nashik and Pune have failed quality checks, and has ordered the company to recall all its stocks from the markets. These samples were declared by the FDA as 'Not Of Standard Quality' after it failed to comply with IS5339:2009 (Second Revision Amendment No. 3) Specification for Skin Powder for infants in the test pH.
Sudarshan Pattnaik creates sand art of Modi with 1,213 mud tea cups

Sudarsan has created a 5 ft high sand sculpture of the Prime Minister with a message "Happy Birthday Modi Ji" at the beach. He has used about five tonnes of sand in this sculpture. Pattnaik has created different sand sculptures of Modi ji on his birthdays.

40-ft veena reaches Ayodhya, to be installed at Lata crossing

The veena has been designed by master sculptor Ram Vanji Sutar, who has designed the 'Statue of Unity' (the world's tallest statue) in Gujarat. Ram Sutar has also reached Ayodhya along with his son. The veena will be installed at the famous Naya Ghat crossing which has been renamed after late Bharat Ratna awardee Lata Mangeshkar.
High Court stays imprisonment of Daler Mehndi in human trafficking case

Daler Mehndi was lodged in the Central Jail in Patiala. Police had registered a case against the singer Daler Mehndi, his brother Shamsher Singh -- who died in October 2017 -- and two others, after it was alleged that the accused took money from people to the tune of Rs 1 crore on the pretext of taking them abroad.
Plea filed in Mathura for removal of another mosque

The petitioner has claimed that the mosque was built on a part of the Thakur Keshav Dev Ji temple, on the east side of the Sri Krishna Janmabhoomi complex. The suit has been filed by Dinesh Sharma, national treasurer of Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha (ABHM), as a devotee of Lord Krishna and as his 'Vaad Mitra' (friend of the suit).
Two gunmen go on random shooting spree in Begusarai, kill 1, injure 10

Begusarai police closed the district borders and launched a manhunt to nab the shooters. The deceased was identified as Chandan Kumar. The police said that two persons were shot at in Mallehpur, three persons shot at near Barauni thermal power station chowk, two shot at in Barauni city, two in Tihra block, and two in Bachhwara block.
Dharam Sansad case: SC grants bail to hate speech accused Jitender Tyagi

A bench of Justices Ajay Rastogi and B.V. Nagarathna directed Tyagi not to indulge into such alleged activities anymore and also furnish an undertaking before the trial court that he will not address electronic media or social media. At the end of August, the apex court had declined to extend Tyagi's interim bail, granted on medical grounds, and directed him to surrender. On Monday, the top court said that Tyagi should be produced before the trial court within three days and he should be released on bail on terms and conditions to the satisfaction of the court.
