Karauli Violence: Councillor booked; curfew extended till Apr 7

An Independent councillor, Matloom Ahmed, has been booked for allegedly inciting the violence in Karauli, sources said. The sources added that Ahmed, who has been identified as the main conspirator of the violence, is absconding. Ahmed has been accused of pelting stones at the rally, inciting violence and gathering crowd to attack those taking part in the rally.

The state President of Sri Rama Sene, Siddalinga Swamiji on Monday demanded that action be taken immediately against those who are carrying out 'Azaan' (namaz) through loudspeakers as they are troubling the common people and creating noise pollution. "During the time of Ramzan, the use of sirens by mosques also annoys people. The state should step in and take action," he demanded. Raj Thackeray, the President of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) had demanded removing loud speakers from mosques and if not he had warned that 'Hanuman chalisa' would be played before loudspeakers.
7 people dead, 34 injured in Kharkiv shelling

The Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office said at around 6 p.m. on Sunday evening, Russian forces shelled residential buildings in the Slobidskyi district, reports Ukrayinska Pravda. The Office said that 10 houses and a bus depot was destroyed as a result. Of the 34 injured persons, three were children, it added. Since the invasion began on February 24, Russian forces have been relentlessly shelling Kharkiv, which lies about 50 km from the countries' border, reports the BBC.
Heat wave sweeps northwest India
