A horror shooting happened on Wednesday in Minneapolis, where a shooter fired at kids attending a church service at Annunciation Catholic School, killing two students. Graphic details later surfaced indicating the attacker had labeled his guns with messages including "kill Donald Trump" and "nuke India," based on a video recovered from his recently deleted YouTube channel.
Law enforcers named the gunman as 23-year-old Robin Westman, who carried a rifle, a shotgun, and a pistol when he launched the attack. Westman, according to the investigators, opened fire with dozens of shots before he was discovered dead in the parking lot of the school from a suspected self-inflicted gunshot wound.
According to court documents, Westman, who was born Robert, legally changed his name from that of his birth name in 2020 after declaring himself female.
The YouTube channel, which was named "Robin W," had at least two videos that were removed within hours of the shooting. One 10-minute video, shot with a cell phone, showed a stash of guns, ammunition, and loaded magazines. "Kill Donald Trump," "kill Trump now," "Israel must fall," and "Burn Israel" were written on the magazines, as well as "Nuke India." Other ominous messages read "Where is your God?" and "for the children."
Names of past school shooters were also written on one of the magazines in various inscriptions written in Cyrillic. In the video, the assailant momentarily held in his hand a smaller gun and said, "This one is for me. In case I need it." The video further showed a letter to family members, where he apologized for the aftermath of the attack.
A second video, lasting close to 20 minutes, featured two journals—one well over 150 pages, and written all in Cyrillic, and one well over 60 pages, with the final entry on August 21, 2025.
US Homeland Secretary Kristi Noem subsequently confirmed the validity of the video, adding that the "deeply sick murderer scribbled" on the magazine of the rifle the words "For the Children," "Where is your God?" and "Kill Donald Trump." "This is unimaginable violence," she posted on X.
The authorities confirmed that Westman bought all the weapons legally, had no criminal history, and worked alone.
In return, President Donald Trump ordered the US flag to be flown at half-mast nationwide as a sign of grieving. Reports indicated that the Annunciation Catholic School shooting was the 146th incident of such nature to happen in the United States this year.
