On Monday, the Israeli army said it had conducted a series of air strikes against at least six airports in western, central, and eastern Iran, claiming to have destroyed several aircraft, including a refuelling aircraft, F-14 and F-5 fighter planes, and AH-1 helicopters.

In a statement by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), over 15 fighter jets carried out simultaneous attacks in the Kermanshah province in western Iran, where they destroyed several sites used to store and launch surface-to-surface missiles targeting Israel.

"The IDF is making every effort to weaken the Iranian Regime's military and gain aerial supremacy over Iranian airspace to safeguard the State of Israel," said the Israeli military through Telegram.

In another tweet on X (formerly Twitter), the IDF reported that its pinpoint strikes had "damaged runways, underground bunkers, a refuelling airplane, and F-14, F-5, and AH-1 aircraft of the Iranian regime."

The military said the destroyed planes were intended to be used against Israeli targets.

The IDF also published a photo identifying the airports that were targeted, including Tehran's Mehrabad, Mashhad, and Dezful. "The Air Force disrupted the capability to take off from these airports and the utilization of the Iranian army air force from them," wrote the post.

This new round of strikes comes in the wake of Israel's massive June 13 attack on Iranian missile sites, nuclear facilities, senior military commanders, and intelligence sites.

While Israeli air attacks persisted early Monday, Iran pledged to retaliate after the United States deployed three American bunker-buster bombs at three of its nuclear sites.

U.S. President Donald Trump asserted the American attack had "destroyed" Iran's nuclear program, although other officials warned that it's premature to judge the full extent of the damage to Tehran's nuclear aspirations.
