Notably absent from Trump's mention was another prominent Indian-American politician, Nikky Haley, who remains in contention.

Ramaswamy, aged 38, withdrew from the Republican presidential race following a disappointing performance in the Iowa caucuses in mid-January. He not only withdrew but also threw his support behind Trump, the eventual winner.

When asked if all mentioned individuals were on his shortlist, Trump responded affirmatively, praising each as "good" and "solid." Ramaswamy had previously hinted at the possibility of being Trump's running mate if he failed to secure the Republican nomination.

Speculation arose regarding Trump's relationship with DeSantis, considering their history of mutual criticism. However, Trump's endorsement of DeSantis and the cessation of their prior hostilities suggest a potential reconciliation.

Meanwhile, Nikky Haley, aged 52, remains determined to continue her presidential bid despite trailing behind Trump in the South Carolina primary. Haley faces a challenging contest in her home state as she vies for the Republican nomination.
