US Secretary of State Marco Rubio reaffirmed America's commitment towards cooperation with India in the war on terrorism during a phone call with India's External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar.
The call came as tensions between India and Pakistan escalated following the ghastly Pahalgam terror attack.
Jaishankar replied by stating categorically that all those who were involved in the attack, including their planners, sponsors, and perpetrators, would be brought to justice.
The External Affairs Minister on Thursday shared his opinions on 'X,' stating, "Spoke about the Pahalgam terrorist attack with US @SecRubio yesterday. Those who executed its planners and supporters, all must be brought to justice."
India has emphatically blamed cross-border terrorists for the April 22 attack that killed 26 civilians and threatened to unleash severe consequences on their perpetrators.
The US State Department provided the details of the call, quoting that Rubio "condemned the loss of life in the barbaric act of terror at Pahalgam" and reiterated the commitment of the United States to working with India in the war against terrorism.
Rubio further requested India to engage Pakistan in easing tensions and promoting peace and security in the South Asian subcontinent.
