US Authorizes Ukraine to Use Its Weapons on Russian Targets Near Kharkiv: Report

This decision permits Ukraine to conduct counter-fire operations against sites near Russia’s border adjacent to Ukraine’s eastern Kharkiv region, as reported by Xinhua news agency on Thursday.

The Biden administration has reportedly authorized Ukraine to target specific areas within Russia using US-supplied weapons, according to Ukrayinska Pravda, which reported citing foreign media sources. 

This decision permits Ukraine to conduct counter-fire operations against sites near Russia’s border adjacent to Ukraine’s eastern Kharkiv region, as reported by Xinhua news agency on Thursday.

The move comes in response to deteriorating battlefield conditions for Ukraine, after recent advances by Russian forces and their improved position in the Kharkiv region. 

Despite this , the US policy regarding long-range strikes inside Russia remained unchanged; Ukraine is still not permitted to use American weapons for attacks deep into Russian territory.
