Partnership with India Ranks Among the Most Consequential Relationships, Affirms US

State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller, speaking at a daily news conference, highlighted that the collaboration with India is among the most consequential relationships for the United States.

The Biden administration emphasized the significance of the partnership between the United States and India shortly after notifying Congress about the decision to sell 31 armed drones to India, with an estimated cost close to USD 4 billion.

State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller, speaking at a daily news conference, highlighted that the collaboration with India is among the most consequential relationships for the United States. He underlined the close working relationship with the outgoing Indian ambassador, Taranjit Singh Sandhu, expressing gratitude for their cooperation on shared priorities, including India's pivotal role in ensuring a free and open Indo-Pacific region that is interconnected, prosperous, secure, and resilient.

Miller conveyed best wishes to Ambassador Sandhu for his future endeavors and expressed anticipation for his successor. Responding to inquiries, he mentioned that Secretary of State Antony Blinken maintains a close working relationship with his Indian counterpart, S Jaishankar. The two officials engage on urgent and important priorities, with Secretary Blinken having visited India and met with Minister Jaishankar on multiple occasions.

The State Department spokesperson emphasized the continuous diplomatic interactions between the two countries, showcasing the commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and addressing critical global issues.
