President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine announced that the country is set to receive its largest military support package from the UK, valued at 500 million pounds ($619 million). He made this known via a Telegram post following a discussion with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. The comprehensive aid package includes Storm Shadow missiles, various other missile types, several armored vehicles, watercraft, and additional ammunition.
In their conversation, Zelensky noted that they explored further strengthening their defense collaboration, with particular attention to maritime and extended range capabilities, as reported by the Xinhua news agency.
The UK stands as one of Ukraine's foremost supporters, committing nearly 12 billion pounds in total aid since February 2022, with 7.1 billion pounds earmarked specifically for military purposes, as per records from the British Parliament.
