Trump Warns Putin Is 'Playing with Fire' Amid Ongoing Ukraine Conflict

Picking up on Truth Social on Tuesday, Trump asserted, "What Vladimir Putin doesn't understand is that if it weren't for me, a lot of really bad things would have already occurred to Russia, and I mean REALLY BAD. He's playing with fire!"

With the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine showing no signs of ending, U.S. President Donald Trump has warned Russian President Vladimir Putin strongly, advising him against further aggravating tensions.

Picking up on Truth Social on Tuesday, Trump asserted, "What Vladimir Putin doesn't understand is that if it weren't for me, a lot of really bad things would have already occurred to Russia, and I mean REALLY BAD. He's playing with fire!"

Earlier, only a few days ago, on Sunday, Trump had made biting attacks targeting both Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, China's Xinhua news agency reported.

Speaking to reporters before boarding Air Force One in Morristown, New Jersey for a flight back to Washington, Trump expressed his disapproval of the Russian leader’s actions. “I’m not happy with what Putin’s doing,” he said, adding, “I don’t know what the hell happened to Putin.”

Later that same evening, Trump returned to Truth Social, intensifying his rhetoric by stating that Putin “has gone absolutely CRAZY!”

Targeting Ukraine's president, Trump vilified Zelensky's strategy as being counterproductive. Trump said that Zelensky was "doing his country 'no favors by talking the way he does,'" reacting to the Ukrainian leader's comments earlier today that denounced U.S. inaction over the latest Russian assault.

Trump's administration has recently threatened the withdrawal from the current efforts to mediate a truce between the two belligerent nations, labeling the diplomatic process as more and more frustrating.

In response to Trump's comments, Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev took to social media Tuesday. He tweeted, "On Trump's words regarding Putin 'playing with fire' and 'really bad things' happening to Russia. I know only one REALLY BAD thing – WWIII. Hope Trump gets it.
