Trump Hints at Possible Future Strikes if Iran Restores Nuclear Facilities

Trump also stressed that Washington could not accept Tehran's uranium enrichment, suggesting that the use of force was still on the table.

During his visit to the NATO Summit, former U.S. President Donald Trump delivered sharp comments on Iran's nuclear program.

When asked if the United States would make another attack if Iran restarted its nuclear enrichment program, Trump answered in the affirmative: "Sure."

Trump also stressed that Washington could not accept Tehran's uranium enrichment, suggesting that the use of force was still on the table.

"We will not allow that to happen. First of all, militarily. I believe we will have a type of relationship with Iran," Trump said, as quoted by Xinhua news agency.

Previously, Trump rejected a recent intelligence report that challenged the administration's assertion that the U.S. attacks had slowed Iran's nuclear program. In a report of the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency, released by CNN and The New York Times, the air strikes had merely temporarily hindered Iran's nuclear activities—setting it back by several months. The report further indicated that much of Iran's enriched uranium had been moved before the assaults.

Seething, Trump went on Truth Social to denounce the media coverage:
"Fake news CNN, and the failing New York Times, have joined together in a pathetic attempt to discredit one of the greatest military strikes in history. The nuclear facilities in Iran are totally destroyed! Both the Times and CNN are being ripped apart by the public," he posted on Wednesday.

At the same time, in an appearance on Fox News, U.S. President's Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff decried the leak of the intelligence report as a grave violation.

"Well, it goes without saying that leaking that kind of information — no matter what the information is, no matter what side it falls on — is outrageous. It's treasonous," Witkoff stated.

"So, it should be investigated, and whoever did it — whoever is responsible for it — should face consequences. It can endanger lives in the future. Leaking is an entirely unacceptable thing."
