Trump Criticizes China, Asserts US Military Dominance

Blasting what he said was the world's growing lack of respect for the United States under the Biden-Harris administration, Trump spoke out about a report he claimed said the U.S. could not win a war with China because it lacked the muscle. "We have the greatest military in the world," Trump said once more. He railed at the idea of such reports being published, saying, "You don't put out reports like that-and it's not true. We would kick their ass."

At a campaign rally, Republican Presidential Candidate Donald Trump declared that in a conflict with China, "we will kick their ass," emphasizing the strength of the U.S. military, which he described as "the greatest military in the world.".

He does not say which report he is referring to, but most likely, this report concerns a recent assessment made by the Commission on the National Defense Strategy submitted to the Senate Armed Services, wherein it might be deduced that perhaps, the US military may not be as strong and capable to make sure that it can decisively deter or defeat its potential adversary, most so in the Western Pacific region where China has advanced significantly.

In a fighting tone, Trump promised to restore America's glory, a message that the overflow crowd at Madison Square Garden clearly enjoyed, chanting repeatedly "USA, USA" and "Four more years." The rally filled up an overflow crowd with some supporters watching on giant screens outside after the venue filled up.

Most of his speech, almost 90 minutes long, was used by him in highlighting domestic issues of immigration and inflation but showed his past policies that he used in handling the foreign policy while boasting Russia never acting aggressively on his watch as president, which also means that Hamas attacking Israel and Russia entering Ukraine could not have occurred if he were still their president. "Ukraine was the apple of his eye, but I said, Vladimir, don't go in," Trump said, touting his chemistry with world leaders.

On trade, he repeated the vow for the "Trump Reciprocal Tax Act," which would retaliate with equal tariffs on those countries taxing U.S. imports. He vowed to bring jobs back from overseas, promising a "golden age" of prosperity.

The VP, Kamala Harris was the other person who did not escape Trump's verbal barrage. He called her a liar and reiterated his accusations that she had lied on her application that she once had worked at McDonald's. Trump called Google CEO Sundar Pichai "a very smart guy." He said Pichai told him that the most popular thing on Google was a story about his visit to a Pennsylvania restaurant afterwards.

Apart from that, Trump spoke positively of his pick for vice president, J.D. Vance's wife Usha, and talked about her experience and intellect. He framed Harris as some kind of radical leftist, who wants to hide away her previous ideas on immigration and crime policy.

In his speech, Trump attacked the media, referring to them as "fakers" and the "enemy of the people". He accompanied most of his declarations with the videos of crimes committed with migrants, so the whole rally became a mix between promises on policy and the entertainment for the audience.

During his recent conviction on 32 charges related to business expense fraud as part of ongoing legal battles, Trump proudly spoke before his former hometown. "This is the city where I was born and raised, and this is the town that taught me that Americans can do anything," he said. Officially now a Florida resident, he still keeps a residence in New York's Trump Tower.

Welcoming his wife, Melania, to the introduction, Trump said during the rally that he reminded his audience of the earlier rally he held in South Bronx, which he compared with the last time a Republican president, Ronald Reagan, campaigned in New York. While Trump garnered only 23% of New York City's vote in 2020, he was focused on building unity at this event. He appealed to inclusivity by saying, "We bleed the same blood. We share the same hope.". We are one people, one family, and one glorious nation under God.

Where Trump avoided divisive rhetoric, his associates did not. The former Fox News host Tucker Carlson mocked Vice President Harris with racially insensitive remarks and Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced a goal of reducing the federal budget by $2 trillion, a suggestion which Trump made for a possible federal efficiency panel.
