A tragic incident unfolded in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, resulting in three fatalities and two individuals sustaining critical injuries following a shooting, as disclosed by local law enforcement.
Upon responding to the scene on Sunday, Winnipeg police encountered five victims bearing injuries consistent with gunshot wounds, as reported by the Xinhua news agency, quoting a statement from local authorities.
Regrettably, an adult male and female were pronounced deceased at the site. Additionally, three victims received immediate medical attention at a hospital, where one person succumbed to injuries, while the remaining two victims are in critical condition.
The police statement highlighted the absence of any arrests made thus far, indicating that the homicide unit remains actively engaged in investigating the incident.
Confirming the identities of the victims remains underway, and as the investigation progresses, additional information will be shared, as communicated by the authorities.
The distressing event in Winnipeg is a somber addition to a concerning trend. The report outlined a record-breaking count of homicides, totaling 53, signaling a sobering reality of rising crime rates within the region.
