According to officials, on Sunday, 31 August, early morning, air defense forces of Russia successfully repelled an overnight drone attack by Ukraine against Moscow and several other Russian regions.
"The air defence forces of the Ministry of Defence have repulsed a drone attack performed in Podolsk urban district flying towards Moscow. In accordance with the preliminary data, no damage or casualties were found at the site of the debris fall. Emergency services specialists continue working on the spot," Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin posted on his Telegram account.
Sobyanin later added in separate posts that the air defense units had downed two drones heading toward Moscow.
"An attempt by the Kyiv regime to carry out a terrorist attack using UAVs in the Bryansk region has been thwarted," Alexander Bogomaz, the region's governor, said on Telegram.
The air defence forces of the Russian Defence Ministry detected and destroyed one unmanned aircraft of aircraft type. There are no casualties or damage. Operational and emergency services are working on the scene, added Bogomaz.
He further noted that within an hour, the air defense forces of Russia detected and destroyed 12 unmanned aircraft-type aerial vehicles. Later, another 12 UAVs were destroyed by the air defense units.
Preliminary reports indicate that no one was injured or damages reported from the attacks, and officials said operational and emergency services had been on the ground, working at active debris sites.
