Russian Official Warns of Conflict with NATO Over Ukraine's Membership Bid

Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of Russia's Security Council, emphasized that Russia does not view NATO as a threat and has no intentions of attacking NATO member nations or harming their citizens.

A senior Russian official stated that Ukraine joining NATO would not just threaten Russia directly but would also be seen as a delayed declaration of war, local media reported on Wednesday.

Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of Russia's Security Council, emphasized that Russia does not view NATO as a threat and has no intentions of attacking NATO member nations or harming their citizens.

He warned that any efforts to pursue hostile agendas in Ukraine or neighboring countries would be met with staunch resistance. 

"The more such attempts there are, the tougher our responses will be. Whether the entire planet will be torn to shreds as a result depends solely on the prudence of the other side," he added.
