Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko on Monday announced that Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will attend the G20 foreign ministers' meeting in New Delhi on March 1st and 2nd.
"Our foreign minister will take part in in the meeting of G20 foreign ministers in New Delhi on March 1-2," Andrey Rudenko was quoted as saying by Russian news agency TASS.
India officially assumed the G20 presidency on December 1st and Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared that India's G20 presidency will be inclusive, ambitious, decisive, and action-oriented. To showcase its rich cultural heritage and as part of the group's activities, India plans to hold over 200 meetings in 55 different locations across the country leading up to the annual G20 summit, which will be held in New Delhi on September 9th and 10th.
The G20, also known as the Group of 20, is an intergovernmental forum of the world's leading developed and developing economies. It includes Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the European Union.
The G20 has become a crucial platform for international economic cooperation as the group collectively represents 85% of the global GDP, 75% of international trade, and two-thirds of the world's population. The G20 continues to play a vital role in promoting global economic growth and stability.
