Russian President Vladimir Putin has given North Korean leader Kim Jong-un another luxury Russian car, say the latest drafts of the summit in Pyongyang. North Korean leader Kim Jong-un received another new Aurus vehicle, plus a tea set, added to the list of gifts from both leaders, said Yury Ushakov, an aide to Putin on foreign policy issues, to Russia's TASS news agency.
Actually, this would not be the first time that it was speculated that Putin is gifting Kim an Aurus car. Early this year, North Korea announced that Putin had given Kim an Aurus limousine, citing Yonhap news agency. As Putin entered Pyongyang the other day, Kim and Putin used the very same Aurus car to drive from Sunan airport to Kumsusan Guest House.
Photographs shared by international media showed Putin and Kim taking turns at the wheel of the new Aurus driving around the compound of a guest house following their summit talks.
Significantly, gifting cars to Kim may be viewed as falling under the sanctions of the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2397 against North Korea, which essentially bars any supply, sale, or transfer of luxury items.
