Sunak also came out swinging at his allegedly soft-on-crime leadership rival, a Labour Party candidate, Keir Starmer, whom he accused of being weak on immigration and wanting to raise taxes. "If Starmer becomes Prime Minister," he said, "illegal migrants will be roaming our streets. We must not hand over our borders to the Labour Party."

UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on Wednesday implored voters not to allow the Labour Party to achieve a "supermajority" so that more taxes could not be rammed through before warning, in a twist posted on X, "Under Labour, every working family will face a tax burden of £2,094."
