Speaking to The News, the premier said that no decision has been taken so far as to who would be the new Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) and the Chief of the Army Staff (COAS). It was also learnt that the military authorities have not yet moved the summary containing a panel of three-star Generals for the topmost military appointments.

A Russian state news agency report said that "Ukrainian specialists went to Pakistan and received a delegation from there to discuss technologies and know-how for creating nuclear weapons".

Indian-origin priest stabbed in Ireland

Father Bobit Augusthy, 30, was attacked by the 22-year-old Anthony Sweeney on the morning of October 30 at the chaplain's house near University Hospital Waterford in Ardkeen, local media reports said. Sweeney has been charged with assault causing harm, under Section 3 of the Criminal Justice Act. Father Bobit, who has been living in Ireland with two of his colleagues, works in the hospital and runs the chapel there.
North Korea fires 3 short-range ballistic missiles

South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said the missile firing from a site in or around the North's eastern coastal city of Wonsan was detected at around 8.51 a.m., reports Yonhap News Agency. One of the three SRBMs fell into high seas 26 km south of the Northern Limit Line (NLL), an area 57 km east of the South's eastern city of Sokcho and 167 km northwest of Ulleung Island near Dokdo.
Shehbaz Sharif meets Xi Jinping in Beijing

In a Facebook post on Wednesday, Sharif said that they also "agreed to increase multilateral cooperation between China and Pakistan, including CPEC, and further strengthen the strategic partnership". The Pakistani leader also posted images of the meeting. Sharif landed in Beijing on Tuesday night on a two-day official visit -- the first since he took office in April this year.
US woman who led Islamic State battalion sentenced to 20 years

Allison Fluke-Ekren was sentenced on Tuesday by a court in the Eastern District of Virginia. A statement issued by the DOJ said that Fluke-Ekren travelled overseas and from September 2011 to about May 2019, engaged in terrorist acts in multiple countries, including Syria, Libya and Iraq.

1 dead, 4 injured in shooting in Colorado

The incident took place on Tuesday afternoon, Xinhua news agency reported. The Denver Police Department wrote on Tuesday in an update on Twitter that five victims were located, adding that four of the victims were transported to hospital and one was pronounced deceased. Officials shared a photo of a dark vehicle that "is believed to have been used by the suspect(s) in this shooting," and urged anyone who saw it or knew the person(s) associated with the vehicle to call police.
