Pakistan seeks emergency $3 billion Saudi cash injection

Finance Minister Ishaq Dar made the request during a meeting with Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki, the Saudi ambassador, according to his ministry’s officials. It was the second consecutive day when the finance minister held meetings with foreign diplomats in his efforts to seek their financial support and also influence the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to soften its stance on releasing its $1.2 billion tranche to the country.
Pakistan passport ranks fourth lowest in world

According to the list issued by Arton Capital, a Pakistani passport only mandates travel to 44 countries without a visa, The Express Tribune reported. Below Pakistan are Iraq (ranked 95th), Syria (96th) and Afghanistan (97th). In comparison, the passports of Yemen (93rd), Bangladesh (92nd), North Korea, Libya and Palestine (91st) and Iran (90th) have been declared more powerful than that of Pakistan.
Threat of nuke war rising, says Putin

Ramesh 'Sunny' Balwani sentenced to almost 13 yrs in prison in US

Balwani will have to surrender to custody on March 15, 2023 for 155 months, or just under 13 years, in prison, reports The New York Times. Last month, Elizabeth Holmes, the founder of Theranos and Balwani's business partner, was sentenced to 135 months, or over 11 years, in prison. Unlike Holmes, Balwani was found to have misled both investors and patients.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said on Wednesday in a statement that the eight packages of sanctions introduced so far were "biting hard" but the Commission was "stepping up the pressure on Russia". The ninth package proposes adding nearly 200 additional individuals and entities to the sanctions list, including the Russian armed forces, as well as individual officers and defence industrial companies, among others.
