Pakistan struggles to pay global airlines

Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) has said it was trying to pay the airlines on time and has been in contact with relevant authorities over the issue, Dawn reported. The Financial Times, while quoting the International Air Transport Association (IATA) said it has become "very challenging" for carriers to serve Pakistan as they struggle to repatriate their dues which are paid in dollars.
Argentina to hold general elections in Oct

Mandatory primary elections are scheduled for August 13, reports Xinhua news agency citing the poll body as saying. Political parties can present one list of primary candidates and voting is mandatory for citizens. Primary candidates must obtain at least 1.5 per cent of the total votes in order to be eligible for the October election. The general election will also choose the vice president, 24 senators, 130 Chamber of Deputies members and 43 Southern Common Market parliamentarians.
Iran to send ambassador to UAE soon

Two dead in shooting at hotel near US city airport

Port of Portland Police responded to the shooting at the Embassy Suites hotel on Wednesday night, reports Xinhua news agency. A man and a woman were confirmed dead, police said, adding their identities have not been confirmed. Judge ready to halt arrest attempts if Imran surrenders in court

Additional District and Sessions (ADSJ) Judge Zafar Iqbal made the remarks while hearing the Election Commission of Pakistan's (ECP) reference seeking criminal proceedings against Khan for concealing details of the state gifts, Dawn reported. The sessions court was set to indict the PTI chairman in the reference on February 28, but his lawyer had requested the judge that he be exempted from the hearing because he had to appear in several other courts.
