Strikes continue at major German airports

On Monday, strikes hit the airports in the capital Berlin, as well as in Hamburg which was already affected on Thursday and Friday. "Because unions and companies in the security industry cannot reach an agreement, tens of thousands of passengers cannot be checked, and hundreds of flights have to be grounded," Ralph Beisel, CEO of the German Airports Association (ADV), told Xinhua news agency on Monday.
Japan to limit foreign investment in 9 new security-sensitive sectors

The other sectors to be added to Japan's list of core areas in which foreign investment is limited include machinery and industrial robots, fertilisers, permanent magnets, metal 3-D printers and marine equipment, Xinhua news agency reported, citing a report by Kyodo News. Under a law on foreign transactions, foreign investors purchasing a 1 per cent or more stake in a Japanese company will be subject to government prescreening if the target company is included in any of the designated core sectors.

FlyDubai aeroplane catches fire over Kathmandu, preparing for emergency landing

Tribhuvan International Airport spokesperson Gyanendra Bhul said that the plane was preparing for emergency landing after it caught fire in mid-air. Its left engine has failed but the other next engine is working, he added. Fire fighters, ambulances, and security personnel are in place at the Kathmandu airport for safe landing of the aircraft.
