Israel leads the world in Covid-19 vaccinations per capita

Israel is leading the race with a rate of 11.55 vaccination doses per 100 people, according to statistics from the 'Our World in Data' website affiliated with Oxford University. Israel began vaccinations on December 19 as the country secured supplies of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine after negotiations early on during the pandemic, according to a BBC report on Saturday.

The interim results of its phase-3 clinical trials show 79.34 per cent efficacy against Covid-19, meeting the standards of the World Health Organization and the NMPA, according to a press conference by the State Council joint prevention and control mechanism against Covid-19, the Xinhua news agency reported.
