Sri Lanka won't succumb to pressure after UNHRC Resolution: President Rajapaksa

In a statement released by his office on Monday, President Rajapaksa said Sri Lanka will face the challenge without fear and that it will not succumb to pressure in response to a UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) Resolution passed last week, which would allow the body to investigate incidents during the three-decade-long civil war.

Also taking to Twitter, the President's wife Samina Alvi, who had also received the jab on March 16 along with her husband, confirmed that she has tested negative and quarantining.
Massive container ship freed from Suez Canal

The Panama-flagged ship, Ever Given, had veered off its course in a single-lane stretch of the canal during a sandstorm, reports dpa news agency. Dredgers and tug boats had been working around the clock to free the massive 400-metre-long-vessel. The high tide on Sunday night helped to free the ship, the service provider indicated.
