UK overhauls asylum system after Brexit

Covid-19 infections surge as Delta variant spreads rapidly in US

Increasing cases have been reported in states with lower vaccination rates, such as Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi, according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Xinhua news agency reported. Recent Covid-19 case rates are an average of three times higher in states that have vaccinated a smaller share of their residents than the US overall, CDC data show.

The total number of coronavirus cases in the country now stands at 4,958,868, the Xinhua news agency reported. The country also recorded another 37 coronavirus-related deaths. The total number of coronavirus-related deaths in Britain now stands at 128,268. These figures only include the deaths of people who died within 28 days of their first positive test.
Pak Hindus warn of protest at Sindh Assembly on August 1

Taliban find new revenues as they seize US-built border gateway

Since then, the insurgents have seized most of the rest of Afghanistan's border with Tajikistan. Nearly 1,000 Afghan troops sought refuge in Tajikistan on Sunday and Monday.
77 Taliban militants killed in Afghan airstrikes

Earlier in the day, 35 militants were killed following a pre-dawn airstrike in surrounding areas of Alishing district of Laghman province, the Ministry said in a statement. Israel's measures of displacing Palestinians illegal: EU

In a statement issued on Monday, the EU mission in Palestine said that the Israeli authorities demolished last week a Palestinian store in the al-Bustan neighbourhood in East Jerusalem. Saying the Israeli authorities gave demolition orders to owners of several other buildings and another 20 homes, the statement added more than 1,000 Palestinians who live in the neighbourhood of Silwan in East Jerusalem are facing a similar threat.
