Earlier on Saturday, Javid said in a tweet: "I tested positive for Covid. I'm waiting for my PCR result, but thankfully I have had my jabs and symptoms are mild. "Please make sure you come forward for your vaccine if you haven't already." Confirming the positive test later in the day, he tweeted: "My positive result has now been confirmed by PCR test, so I will continue to isolate and work from home."
Global Covid-19 caseload tops 189.9 mn

In its latest update on Sunday morning, the University's Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) revealed that the current global caseload, death toll and the total number of vaccine doses administered stood at 189,924,297, 4,081,385 and 3,596,183,765, respectively. The US continues to be the worst-hit country with the world's highest number of cases and deaths at 34,067,424 and 608,881, respectively, according to the CSSE.

Pakistan refuses to hand over ex-ISI chief to Bosnia tribunal

The Express Tribune, Pakistan, reported that the tribunal had demanded the custody of a former chief of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Javed Nasir, a retired lieutenant general, for his alleged support to Bosnian Muslim fighters against the Serbian army in the 1990s despite an embargo by the United Nations. Islamabad had informed the court that the former general had "lost his memory" following a recent road accident.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan states with deep regret that on July 16, 2021, the daughter of the Afghan ambassador to Islamabad, Ms. Silsila Alikhil, was abducted for several hours and severely tortured by unknown individuals on her way home," the statement said. After being released from the kidnappers' captivity, Alikhil is under medical care at a hospital.
