China attempting to build military base on the Atlantic Ocean
US intelligence officials believe that China's President Xi Jinping is hoping to convince the president of the West African nation, Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, to allow expansion of an existing port in the city of Bata, and conversion into a military base, the report said. Were China to convert the Bata port into a military base, it would enable Beijing to repair and rearm their warships and other naval equipment in the same waters in which the US Eastern Seaboard sits.

Win Myint, the ousted president of Myanmar, has also been jailed for four years. Suu Kyi is facing a total of 11 charges and according to BBC, she could be jailed for life. Suu Kyi has been under house arrest at an undisclosed location after her National League for Democracy (NLD) government was toppled by the Myanmar Army in February this year.

The National Security Council has refused to make a comment regarding the boycott. Last month, the US President told the media that he was weighing a diplomatic boycott as Democratic and Republican lawmakers, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, advocated for one in protest of China's human rights abuses, as reported by CNN .

Chronic food shortages in North Korea: "North Korea is experiencing chronic food shortages with around 1 million tons of foods falling short every year," Ministry spokesperson Lee Jong-joo said in a press briefing. Since the borders are sealed in North korea for a long time, it's been difficult for the country to secure food from abroad, Lee further said.
