2 officers killed in shooting at college in US' Virginia
A male shooter was taken into police custody, Xinhua news agency reported, citing the college's statement. In an email sent to students and staff, the college identified the victims as campus police officer John Painter and campus safety officer J.J. Jefferson. Police responded to a report of an active shooter on the Bridgewater College campus on Tuesday afternoon, and the suspect was arrested a short time later not far from the campus.
Cash strapped Pak to seek $5bn loan from other countries
The federal ministry of finance has finalised the plan for the loan, agreement of which is expectedly to be signed during the visit of Prime Minister Imran Khan to China later this month. Sources revealed that Islamabad plans to borrow $3 billion from China to stabilise its forex reserves, while additional $2 billion from Russia and Kazakhstan would be spent on the ML-1 Railways project.

Pakistan warns Taliban of surgical strikes inside Afghanistan unless its affiliate stops cross-border attacks
Moeed Yusuf, the National Security Advisor of the Imran Khan government during his visit to Kabul on Sunday, accused the Taliban of sheltering all TTP top militants who are on Pakistan's most wanted list. According to Pakistan and Afghanistan watchers, Yusuf also conveyed to the Pashtun militant group that the TTP leaders have allowed the Baloch militants to make their hideouts near Kandahar and Helmand provinces in Afghanistan.
Japanese fighter jet disappears over Sea of Japan
The jet lost radar contact after taking off from the Komatsu Air Base in the central Japanese prefecture of Ishikawa, Xinhua news agency reported, citing the JASDF. The fighter disappeared at on Monday evening when it was conducting training with a crew of two aboard over the Sea of Japan about 5 km west-northwest of the base, according to a Ministry of Defense source.
