Iran says US sanction waiver 'insufficient' to restore nuke deal

Iran is waiting for the US to fulfill its duties and obligations regarding the lifting of sanctions, Khatibzadeh told Jamaran news website on Saturday. "The news we hear on Saturday is about a dimension of lifting nuclear sanction, and everyone knows that this is not enough," Khatibzadeh said, adding that "what the US needs to do is to lift all sanctions, including the nuclear sanctions".
US conveys approval on Masood Khan's appointment as Pak envoy

The agreement, which was issued by the State Department, will now allow Masood to replace incumbent Pakistani Ambassador Asad Majeed Khan. The agreement, in diplomacy, is an agreement to receive and facilitate members of a country's diplomatic mission. Masood's agreement was sent by the Foreign Office in November after Prime Minister Imran Khan nominated him as ambassador to the US.

A group of bipartisan influential American lawmakers has requested President Biden to partner with India on global Covid-19 vaccine supply to ensure  its allies do not use substandard  vaccines from China and Russia. In a letter to President Biden, they urged him to push for effective supply and distribution of Cobervax, a US-made, India-manufactured affordable vaccine- amongst its allies to fight the pandemic.
US, 8 other nations urge UNSC to condemn N.Korean missile test

Friday's meeting marked the second attempt by the US and other like-minded countries in just about two weeks to hold North Korea to account for its recent series of missile launches, Yonhap News Agency reported on Saturday. North Korea staged its seventh and last round of missile launch of the year on January 30. The statement was signed by the UN representatives from eight other UNSC member countries.
Europe may see 'long period of tranquillity' in pandemic: WHO

According to Hans Kluge, WHO's Europe Director, the region was in a position of "higher protection" that could "bring us enduring peace", even if a new, more virulent variant than Omicron should emerge, the Guardian reported. Last week, the European region had recorded 12 million new coronavirus cases -- the highest single weekly total of the pandemic -- with about 22 per cent of all tests returning a positive result, Kluge was quoted as saying.
