Ukraine imposes state of emergency over tensions with Russia
The legislation, introducing the state of emergency in all Ukrainian regions except for the conflict-hit Luhansk and Donetsk regions, for 30 days, was supported by 335 lawmakers in the 450-seat parliament on Wednesday. In the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, where a Joint Forces Operation is underway, a special legal regime has been already in effect, Xinhua news agency reported.
Canadian PM declares end of 10-day state of emergency
At a press conference on Wednesday, Trudeau made the announcement to end the use of the Emergencies Act which was passed by the House of Commons. "Immediate emergency situation is over," he said, stressing that the decision was made after careful consideration, Xinhua news agency reported.
Russia vows 'strong response' to new US sanctions

UAE plans to buy L-15 aircraft from China
The UAE Ministry of Defense has said that it plans to buy 12 L-15 aircraft from China, state news agency WAM said on Wednesday, Al Arabiya reported. The Ministry will sign a contract with the China National Aero-Technology Import & Export Corporation (CATIC) to purchase the aircraft, with the option of buying 36 more aircraft in the future, according to WAM.
Taliban publicly flogs man accused of adultery
Several residents of provincial capital Tarin Kowt said that the man was flogged in the city's central square on February 21 in the morning, the report said. Tarin Kowt resident Noor Agha, who witnessed the public flogging, said that the Taliban brought a man to the town square in a military vehicle.
EU set to announce wide-ranging sanctions on Russia
The measures, which need to be signed by EU foreign ministers, would go further than those announced by the US and a significant distance beyond Boris Johnson's Russia sanctions, the report said. If approved, the EU will impose asset freezes and travel bans on 23 people, three banks and a notorious internet "troll factory" in St Petersburg, in response to Russian President Vladimir Putin's decision to recognise the self-proclaimed republics in Donetsk and Luhansk as independent states.
Ukraine asks its citizens to leave Russia immediately
Up to three million Ukrainians are believed to be living in Russia and many have family in both countries. In addition, a state of emergency is to be declared in Ukraine, lasting 30 days, the country's top security official said. Ukraine is also conscripting reservists into the regular military as it braces for a possible invasion by its neighbour, Russia.
Pakistan has transported first load of Indian wheat and medicines to Afghanistan
A statement issued by MOFA said that the aid was supplied through the first batch of 41 Afghan trucks that entered into Pakistan via Torkham, as Pakistani authorities had refused to accept the Indian condition of using Indian trucks for transportation. "The Afghan trucks are returning to Afghanistan today after loading the Indian wheat consignment, delivered at Attari-Wagah Border," the statement read.
Pak won't play camp politics: Imran Khan
Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that the country will no longer be taking sides or playing "camp politics" and will be working towards increasing trade relations with countries to get itself out of poverty. In an interview to Russia Today, Khan said Pakistan was no longer in a position to take sides in conflicts between two countries, adding that the Cold War ravaged the world in the past.
China denies claims its rocket debris set to crash into Moon
The doomed space debris was first reported by Bill Gray, an astronomer running Project Pluto. In his blogpost, Gray first claimed that the debris is from billionaire Elon Musk owned SpaceX rocket. But later Gray predicted that the object is a leftover piece of a Chinese rocket, specifically a Long March 3C that launched China's Chang'e 5-T1 mission to the Moon.
