Imran Khan to launch protest movement against 'illegal' govt

Most crucially, a rift began to appear between Army chief, Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa and former ISI chief and current Peshawar Corps Commander, Lt Gen Faiz Hameed, who was widely seen as hoping to become the next Army chief.

The BBC Urdu report alleged that "two uninvited guests" reached the Prime Minister's House, with an extraordinary security detail, via helicopter and held a 45-minute private meeting with ousted Prime Minister Imran Khan, Dawn news reported. The biggest claim in the report, made by citing government sources, was that the meeting was less than pleasant.

Tax experts said the personal loans to Murty's venture capital firm, Catamaran Ventures UK, fall into a 'grey area' of the rules and last night called for HM Revenue & Customs to investigate, the Daily Mail report said. The loans could "circumvent" the basis of her non-dom status if they were found to give her "monetary or non-monetary returns", whether through profits or by exerting influence, it was claimed.

Water crisis looms in Pakistan

For the last 10 days, national water supplies have dipped substantially below not only last year's levels, but average supplies of the last five or 10 years for the day, forcing Pakistan to start its Kharif season with close to a 40 per cent shortage in both of its water-producing systems - 30 per cent in Indus and 10 per cent in the Jhelum arm, reports Dawn news.
