"If you're tired of losing, put your trust in a new generation," Haley said. Without naming Trump, Haley also called for a "competency test" for politicians over 75.

51-year-old Haley, the former governor of South Carolina and UN ambassador, has been the first notable candidate to challenge Trump for the 2024 Republican nomination.

Trump's keynote is expected to reiterate his "Make America Great Again" (MAGA) agenda, which won him the presidency in 2016. The agenda will likely include conservative issues such as border security, gun rights, and opposition to "woke" attitudes.

Haley's emphasis on a new generation of leadership suggests a desire for change and a break from the past, while Trump's MAGA agenda represents a return to his previous platform. It remains to be seen which vision will ultimately gain more support from the Republican base.
