Moscow is awaiting further clarification from Washington regarding a recent ceasefire proposal discussed in talks between the United States and Ukraine, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated on Wednesday.
Peskov emphasized that Russia would refrain from making any assumptions until it receives more details.
"Yesterday, during a press briefing, both U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Advisor Mike Waltz indicated that they would relay comprehensive information about the discussions in Jeddah through diplomatic channels," he said.
He added that scheduled meetings with U.S. officials in the coming days would provide all the necessary details.
On Tuesday, Ukraine expressed its willingness to accept a U.S.-proposed "immediate, interim 30-day ceasefire" following negotiations with an American delegation in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, as stated in a joint announcement.
