A brief selfie video shared by Italy PM Giorgia Meloni with Prime Minister Narendra Modi , where they are seen smiling and waving, has gone viral on social media.
The Italian Prime Minister shared the post on Saturday afternoon (India time), and the clip has amassed over 20.2 million views and more than 64,000 re-posts on X within just nine hours.
In the video, both leaders were seen beaming and had just concluded their bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the G7 Summit Friday night in Italy's Apulia region.
The same video posted by Meloni on her Instagram account got over 19.1 million views.
Prime Minister Modi replied to Meloni's post on X: "Long live India-Italy friendship!" The response had got more than 8.6 million views by Saturday evening.
In December, Meloni has posted another selfie with PM Modi on the sidelines of the COP28 summit in Dubai and it also went viral.
"Good friends at COP28", wrote the Italian Prime Minister in her post on X on December 1, 2023. It has received over 47.3 million views.
"Meeting friends is always a delight", Modi said the next day, and this tweet got more than 12 million views and also trended in this microblogging platform for quite a long time.
