A recent IndiGo flight traveling from Jeddah to Hyderabad encountered a distressing medical emergency onboard that unfolded tragically.
In response to the critical situation, the pilot took swift action, diverting the flight to Karachi in a bid to secure immediate medical assistance for an unwell passenger. Upon landing in Karachi, a doctor promptly attended to the individual. Despite the dedicated efforts, unfortunately, the passenger couldn't be revived and was declared deceased upon arrival.
An airline spokesperson acknowledged the incident, stating, "On Thursday, there was a medical emergency on board IndiGo flight 6E 68 operating from Jeddah to Hyderabad. The captain diverted the flight to Karachi, where the passenger was attended to by a doctor on arrival."
The spokesperson further expressed, "Regrettably, the passenger did not survive and was declared dead on arrival. The flight resumed its journey from Karachi after completing necessary formalities and subsequently landed in Hyderabad at 9:08 IST."
Additionally, the airline is actively in touch with the deceased passenger's family, extending their heartfelt condolences and offering support during this difficult time. The spokesperson emphasized, "We are in touch with the family members of the deceased, and our thoughts and prayers are with them."
